Greening the Grassroots: Allons Cadets Spearhead 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' Drive in Village and Campus to Meet National Targets

Activity

Introduction:
In compliance with the joint directives and instructions issued by the Sainik School Society and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Allons Public School organised a Mega Plantation Drive today, September 12, 2026. Conducted under the deeply resonant nationwide theme "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam," and executed under the aegis of the School Eco Club, the initiative beautifully interwove institutional mandates with a heartfelt tribute to motherhood. The primary objective of this drive was to sensitise young minds to the critical need for afforestation while instilling a deep sense of national service, ecological responsibility, and civic duty among the Class 6, 7, and 8 Cadets.

  1. Activity Highlights & Key Milestones:
    • Institutional Alignment: The initiative was conceptualised under the structural framework of the School Eco Club, fully aligning with the green mandates of CBSE and the disciplined ethos of the Sainik School Society.
    • Mass Participation & Today's Achievement: A large cohort of cadets from Classes 6, 7, and 8 enthusiastically planted 100 saplings today. Each tree planted stood as a living tribute to the selflessness and nurturing spirit of a mother.
    • Expanded Community Reach: Breaking the boundaries of the school premises, the green drive was carried out extensively across the school campus, the nearby village, and various prominent public places, ensuring a wider ecological footprint and active community outreach.
    • September Cumulative Milestone: With today’s successful addition, the school celebrated a major milestone, having successfully planted more than 400+ trees over the course of September 2026, significantly boosting local biodiversity and regional green cover.
    • Hands-on Environmental Education: The supervising faculty members, Ms. P. Nagamani and Mr. Ranjan, guided the cadets through the practical aspects of botany and conservation, including proper soil preparation, sapling spacing, and watering techniques.
    • Lifelong Care and Nurturing: To ensure the long-term survival of the plantation, the cadets were assigned the responsibility to adopt, monitor, and care for their specific saplings throughout the academic year—symbolising how a child nurtures a bond inspired by a mother's care.

  2. Principal's Message and Vision: The Principal, Dr. Venkata Lakshmaiah Talluri, closely monitored the drive and actively participated by planting a foundational sapling alongside the students.
In a brief address to the gathering, Dr. Venkata highly appreciated the immense teamwork and
discipline displayed by the junior school cadets in crossing the 400+ plant mark. He explicitly
announced that to successfully achieve the ultimate target of 2,200 plants directed by CBSE
and the Sainik School Society, the institution will continually run this plantation initiative as an
ongoing campaign, turning environmental stewardship into a regular academic feature.

  3. Conclusion & Impact: The Plantation Drive concluded successfully, marking a significant milestone in the school's ecological and institutional roadmap. The tremendous enthusiasm shown across Classes 6, 7, and 8 proved that institutional targets can be seamlessly met when driven by shared purpose. By
greening public spaces and aligning strictly with national directives, the event has firmly put
Allons Public School on track to complete its grand target of 2,200 trees.
